Ten Foot Pole Productions is a theatre company dedicated to telling stories
that polite people wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.

Ten Foot Pole Productions is dedicated to examining these subjects in an accessible way
with stories and characters that burn with the truth of human life and passion.

Ten Foot Pole Productions also plans to have each of its shows give back
to our communities in a direct, concrete way.

About Artistic Director Rob Salerno

Rob was born and raised in Toronto. His public school didn't have a drama program, so he focused his early passion for the arts into painting, drawing, writing, and performing the odd skit with friends. He earned a Joint-Honours BA at McGill University (Cultural Studies/Political Science), where he took his first acting classes and developed a love of the stage. Upon graduation, he was awarded the prestigious Lionel Shapiro Award for Creative Writing for his short stories. After a brief stint in Vancouver, where he studied with the Lyric School of Acting and Theatresports, he returned to Toronto, where he founded Ten Foot Pole Productions as the home of his playwriting. In 2008, he completed his MA in Drama at the University of Toronto.

Rob is currently represented by The Messinger Agency for his acting and represents himself for his literary work.

In 2009, Rob completed a residency with the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre Young Creators Unit and began working as the Literary Programs Intern at The Canadian Stage Company.

In his other life, Rob works as a freelance journalist. He is also an avid cyclist and enjoys studying martial arts.
